  2. QUESTION:
How do you get rid of veins around the eyes?
I've had these blue-ish veins around my eyes (I'm in my teenage years), I don't know how to get rid of them, and I don't want to always cover them with makeup. They are mostly on or around my eyelids. Should I be drinking more water? ... It bothers me whenever I look in the mirror.

Does anyone know how to get rid of them?
    Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
You don't get rid of them. They are superficial veins - often called spider veins because they are so small. Make-up is the cheapest way to cover them, laser treatment is the most expensive. This has nothing to do with drinking water, it has to do with how superficial these vessels happen to be and you have no control over this.

  4. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of veins under my eyes?
Thanks to genetics, I have very large, easy to see veins in my body. It just happens that these veins also happen to run right under my eye, making me look like I have big bags under my eyes even when I do not. I've tried tea compresses, preparation H, face masks, the whole nine and nothing seems to help. Does anybody else have this problem and have found ways to decrease the appearance of the veins, or is there any surgery that is offered where these veins could be removed or shrunk?

    • ANSWER:
Caffein and nicotine cause the veins in your body to dialate or swell up so if your a big coffee drinker switch to decaf. I have same prob with caffein but for diff reasons. Also there's a new treatment at a Dermatologist where they inject a drug into the vein and makes it die (don't worry other veins will take over). You can see the diff right away. It's done right in the office so shouldn't cost too much. Good luck.

  6. QUESTION:
How to get rid of veins in your feet and palm?
Yes, I'm 14 and I have veins in my feet and in the back of my palm.
    And how to prevent veins?

    • ANSWER:
Varicose veins may be prevented and stopped if at an early stage, those people who usually stand long hours at work will change their jobs. For old varicoses - surgical operation only.

As the primal cause of the trouble is stagnation of the blood at that point, acceleration of the circulation there would relieve that congestion; and the only way this can be possible is by friction.

The most effective method for accomplishing this is with the dry palm of the hand, and the most convenient time- in bed and in the early morning. The conditions are then favorable, as the body is relaxed and will readily respond to intelligently directed efforts towards its rejuvenation or improvement.

Relief is obtained by friction, with the palm of the hand, daily and persistently. This exercise will relieve the congestion and will strengthen the minute muscles that support the venous walls. And if persisted in systematically and methodically, will finally restore the distorted venous valves to their proper position and the trouble will disappear.

The most convenient position is lying on your side. Start with twenty strokes of the hand up and down, following the course of the vein. Increase to one hundred strokes as the skin becomes hardened and accustomed to the friction. In an ordinary stage, this exercise can guarantee remarkable results.

  7. QUESTION:
How to get rid of veins and dark cirlces on the eye?
Okay, so I have dark circles under my eyes along with veins on my lids. The dark circles aren't so horrible, I mean I know "drink more water", "sleep", yada yada. My main concern is the veins on-top of my lids. I think I MIGHT have them due to steroid treatments I received as a baby for my eczema. My mom told me she quit giving them to me because it made my skin very light, and you could see my veins very easily through my skin. They aren't crows feet or spider veins (I'm 15, I know I'm not aging that quickly! xD), just light veins only on my lids. You see them clearly when I close my eyes, and I want to get rid of them. I've been using concealer to cover them like my under eyes circles, but I really want them GONE, or a better remedy for helping them fade, SOMETHING. Please help?

Last week i noticed i have little red viens on my legs , and Im only 14. Is there anyway to get them off.

They are spider veins you dont need to see a dermatoligst over that...geeze you people. All you need to do is either wrap the spots at night with an ace bandage so they have support or wear panty hose that are semi tight yet confortable while you sleep.

Also do not cross your legs and be aware of what you eat like pop (even diet) and energy drinks and excess sugars. All of thses hinder your circulation. Also you can take 1 capsule of capsicum a day (its hot peppers in a capsule) to increase your circulation. Youre young so it shouldnt take very long to fix unless you just eat a bunch of junk food.

Getting rid of veins, unless varicose veins, would be truly unwise. Varicose veins may be treated by a physician.

  24. QUESTION:
How do I get rid of vein scars?
    I hope this makes sense

A few months ago I've been getting these scars on my hips, back of my legs, and on my inner thighs. My grandmother told me that they are my veins. It looks really bad and I would be embarrassed to put on a bikini or anything skimpy that shows these scars. I have been putting cocoa butter on the scars but it is not working fast enough.

How did I even get these scars?
    What are they?
How do I get rid of them?

    • ANSWER:
Those are not scars but stretch marks from growing. Unfortunately there is not way to get rid of them nor prevent them it is part of how your skin reacts to stretching. Once you stop growing they will eventually fade but are not gone. There is also no way to prevent them. Keeping your skin hydrated and using lotion will keep your skin moist but that is about it. Take a look at the women in your family and see how they did during their growing years. Most likely you will get them as well when you have your babies. Good luck and don't worry and most of all don't scratch them it just makes them red and worse. Good luck.

How do you get rid of visible veins under your eyes?
Due to stress and little sleep, I have slight bags under my eyes and visible veins as well. I know for a fact there's no way I can get rid of the bags under my eyes but I heard there's some way you can make the veins under your eyes less visible. Any answers?

    • ANSWER:
Dark circles are either hereditary or caused by lifestyle. There is little you can do for hereditary dark circles - there may be some products you can use to lighten the area slightly but they are difficult to treat. If they are caused by lifestyle then you can usually get good results if you use products containing high levels of actives and the correct ingredients for that condition. Vitamin K is the most commonly used ingredient and gives very good results and will help to strengthen the capillary walls so they do not appear so visible..

I'm sorry, it's not the pregnant question, but I do get a lot of good answers from here.

I got the vericose veins from my first pregnancy and I am pregnant again and they got even worse. How much do you think does it cost to get rid of them through surgery?

    • ANSWER:
The veins didn't go down after you had your first child? I had vericose veins during my pregnancy, but that was only because she was applying pressure making them puff out, and once she was born they seemed to disappear (thank god). I do know there is a surgery out there for them, I saw it on the news but i'm not sure what it was all about, but from what I heard it was very expensive. Have you tried all the creams out there that're supposed to help them? I would look around because the surgery was very expensive, so if you could get rid of them cheaper it'd probably be the best way to go. Good luck!

You probably have roseacia. It is characterized by small red veins on the face. The most common place is round the nose and cheeks, but they can show up anywhere. I have it, and I use Aveeno ultra claming foaming cleanser and then the moisturizer daily. It has feeverfew in it, which is calms this skin and reduces redness. I have been using it since December and I can tell a huge difference in the redness of my face. The Aveeno is over the counter in the skin care area.

Nonsurgical ways to get rid of spider veins?
What are some nonsurgical ways to get rid of spider veins? I am 22, physically active, do not smoke or drink excessively, and have a thin build. How do I make them go away?!
I am looking for some kind of creams or lotions. I am a student and can not afford saline shots or laser treatment. Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Telangiectasias, or spider veins, are small dilated blood vessels near the surface of the skin; usually they measure only a few millimeters. They can develop anywhere on the body but commonly on the face around the nose, cheeks, and chin. They can also develop on the legs, specifically on the upper thigh, below the knee joint, and around the ankles.
Telangiectasias can usually be eliminated by intracapillary injections of 0.3% solution of sodium tetradecyl sulfate through a fine-bore needle. Hypertonic saline 23.4% is sometimes used but causes fairly severe, temporary, localized pain; therefore, large areas of spider veins may require several treatments. Pigmentation may develop but usually subsides, often completely. Skin ulceration may result if the injection is extravascular or too large. Laser treatment is effective, but large areas require several treatments. Small telangiectasias may persist or recur after initial treatment.

  45. QUESTION:
How can i prevent or get rid of spider veins?
I am only 16 and i am already getting spider veins. This is very frustrating because i feel less attractive and i am afraid to wear shorts in public. Could it be because i work standing up 9 hours a day on the weekends and on the weekdays i have softball and drumline practice (average of 4 hours worth per night). Please help.

    • ANSWER:
The other answerer is correct. Spider veins occur in many, many people. It is just something that your body does. And, no one looks that closely at a person's legs when wearing shorts that they could see the spider veins without getting their face very close to your legs. And, your legs will probably become more tan during the summer which will also help to hide them. People do not examine pt's legs closely except to notice in passing that they have an attractive shape to their legs, etc. You need to ignore these and later, when you are older and have some money saved up, you can go to a laser clinic to reduce their appearance but you would probably be wasting your money because if your body does this now, it will continue to do it all of your life.

How to naturally get rid of spider veins?
I am in my early thirties and have spider veins popping up all over my legs .I have tried increasing exercise and tried using vitamin K serum and using herbs nothing seems to work.

    • ANSWER:
Beyond what you say you have already tried, here are a few other suggestions you might consider:

      - Control your weight and the external weight you put on your legs, (ie. children sitting on your lap) Avoid placing too much pressure on your legs.

      - Don’t cross your legs for long periods of time when sitting. It’s possible to injure your legs that way, and even a minor injury can increase the risk of spider veins or even varicose veins.
      - Elevate your legs when resting, as much as possible. Try laying on the floor in the evenings, with your legs up on the sofa or a chair (above heart level) for 30 - 45 minutes each night.
      - Don’t stand or sit for extended periods of time. If you must stand for a long time, shift your weight from one leg to the other every few minutes. If you must sit for long periods of time, stand up and move around or take a short walk every 20 - 30 minutes.
      - Avoid wearing high heels for long periods of time. Lower-heeled shoes can help tone your calf muscles to help blood move through your veins.

      - Eat a low-salt diet rich in high-fiber foods. Eating fiber reduces the chances of constipation, which can contribute to spider veins & varicose veins. High-fiber foods include fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grains, nuts & seeds. Eating less salt can help with the swelling that comes with spider veins & varicose veins.

      - Wear elastic support stockings and avoid tight clothing that constricts your waist, groin, or legs.

      - avoid hot things. Hot showers & hot tubs (the heat will dilate blood vessels causing more redness)
      - try to get at least 7 - 8 hours of sleep each night (aids in the healing processes of the body)
      - try to cut down on stress (stress can magnify a multitude of conditions)

You can try increasing your omega 3 fatty acids by taking supplements such as Evening Primrose Oil, fish oils, etc… Ground Fennel seeds and Flax seeds, as well as Flax seed Oil supplements (omega 3’s) also act as anti-inflammatories.

Guinot has a cream called RED LOGIC which claims to neutralize the appearance of red blood vessels. I know there are other brands and products that may be similar.

      Hope this helps!

  48. QUESTION:
How do get rid of Spider Veins and help my legs from falling asleep a lot?
I am 21 years old. I'm 5'7" and weigh 130 which is what i am suppose to weigh. I have Spider Veins and my legs fall asleep a lot. Both are getting worse. I need to figure out what to do. What should I do.

    • ANSWER:
You can't do anything about the ones you have now unless you get laser surgery but you can help prevent more. You can wear compression stockings, don't stand in one spot for long periods of time or sit for long periods of time. do flexing exercises to increase circulation, quit smoking if you smoke and if your female talk to your doc about birth control alternatives if your using them.

You should talk to your doc anyway as there may be an underlying problem causing your poor circulation. Don't take this to lightly. If you got a blood clot it could be deadly or at the very least painful (I know both by experience as I have protein C deficiency and have had DVT and surface clots).
      Good luck and good health.

How to get rid of spiders veins?
I have alot of spider veins on my legs, and i dont know how to get rid of them, so how can i??

    • ANSWER:
Over the counter topical treatments that boost vitamin k can also work. A daily dosage of vitamin K vitamins can also prove beneficial.

Massage a treatment made from 2 drops of Cypress Oil and 1 cup of Safflower oil into the areas affected by Spider Veins. Massage in the mixture 1-2 times daily.

There is also another treatment called Sclerotherapy. Sclerotherapy can range from 0 to 0 per session and again, multiple sessions are required. Sclerotherapy involves a tiny needle that is injected directly into your spider vein. I've heard that it is a painless procedure and is performed by a plastic surgeon. Just like laser it will depend on how bad your spider veins are to determine how many sessions you will need.

      Good luck!
