Lump On Lower Leg

Get Rid Of Cellulite On Back Of Legs

So you want to get rid of cellulite. You want a lovely, smooth body, free from all those lumps and bumps which cellulite causes? Cellulite is caused by a change to the fat stored immediately under the skin, which causes it to form into little lumps which give the characteristic orange peel effect to the skin. This is a great exercise, which not only reduces the amount of this fat and helps you to get rid of cellulite, but also gives a smoother appearance to your skin and can be used by both men and women! Get Rid Of Cellulite On Back Of Legs

The way to get rid of cellulite is to reduce the excess fat under the skin to a minimum. The exercise to achieve this requires some equipment. You have to be able to lie comfortably down on your stomach. You can get rid of cellulite with a good leg extension while lying on your stomach, so a low table, bench or even hard bed will do; something you can lie on with your legs overhanging the end.

You will also need a set of dumbbells from around 10 to 30 lb. You will start with the lower weight and work up to the higher. You can start lower than 10 if you must, but since it's a hard form of fat, you won't get rid of cellulite without some effort.

Lie down flat on your stomach, with your legs overhanging the bench or bed (knees at the edge). Hold the weights between the arches of both feet (get someone to help position them if you can), then raise you feet as high as you can, bending at the knees. You can rest on your elbows if this helps. Drop the feet again as low as possible and repeat. The number of repetitions is up to you, but a good starting point would be 10 repetitions, rest 5 minutes, then another 10. The quicker you want to get rid of cellulite, the more repetitions you should carry out. Get Rid Of Cellulite On Back Of Legs

Once it gets easier, switch to two sets of 20 repetitions. Once you are able to do this with ease, change to a higher weight. You should work at this over time until you are able to carry out 30 repetitions with the 30 lb weight. You will be able to get rid of cellulite in no time, and your legs will be much stronger.

As you increase the weight above around 15lb, you should protect your ankles. The exercises can be carried out wearing ankle socks, but shoes or trainers will be necessary as protection with the higher weights. This will avoid both abrasion and possible injury if the weights slip. It will also be essential to have someone available to position the heavier weights between your feet.

Once you become experienced with this exercise, you can also pick up the weights with your hands, and raise both arms and legs with the weights. This will not only enable you get rid of cellulite, but will strengthen your leg, arm and back muscles. Do not attempt these exercises if you have any back problems.

Keep this up for about 15 minutes a day for a couple of weeks, and you will find your legs becoming smoother, and the cellulite disappearing. The exercise is designed to get rid of cellulite and is extremely effective. Get Rid Of Cellulite On Back Of Legs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is this small bruise/lump on my lower leg?
It has been on the front portion of my leg about half way down from my knee for over a month. It is about the size of a penny or smaller- but it is a bump and is light blue/black like a typical bruise. It is painful to the touch but not otherwise. I do not recall hitting my leg at any time but it is possible.

Could it be a blood clot ?
Should i wait longer to have it checked out ?

    • ANSWER:
If it was just a bruise the color would have changed & it still wouldn't be painful when touched after a month's time.

Yes, please do get yourself to your doctor's office to get it looked at.

Is an MRI or CT better for diagnosing a lump on leg?
Just curious which would show more if a person had an obvious lump on lower leg. Appears over muscle radomly with no change in activities i guess which shows muscle and vascular things better? why??? Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
MRI shows much better detail. CT is often a starting point chosen by doctors because they are so quick. If the results from the CT scan are obvious - your done. If the CT results are questionable you're probably going to end up with an MRI anyway.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had an idea of what this might be. For 3 days, I have had a very painful lump on the right side of my left leg, below the knee (under the skin, you cannot tell from the surface). It hurts when I stand or move my leg. Last night, my leg started tingling and then I had no feeling below the knee for about 15 minutes. Anyone ever experience anything like this?

I am not on birth conrol or anything. no history of blood cloths in the family.

    could it be scar tissue?
    or something else??

    Hard lump on lower leg?
7 weeks ago, while practising a dance for school, my friend and I were doing forward rolls across out carpet in unison. We got the timing wrong and hit each other. Her hip hit the inside of my lower leg and I lay there with a "dead leg" for a few minutes. The brusing was large and spread around my ankle with a yellow tinge. 3-4 weeks ago I noticed a firm lump right where I got hit. Its about 3cm-1cm. Its very hard, I can put alot of pressure on this lump, it doesn't hurt at all. Though I've noticed the area around my big toe and top of foot has been tingling at times and feels "thick", likes it enlarged.
Should I get this lump checked out?

    • ANSWER:
yes, you might have more than just a nasty bruise. go to your doc. he/she can probably order an MRI which is really good way to evaluate injuries. Write down details of exactly what happened and your symptoms.

I have a soft lump on lower leg...?
I went running about a month ago, and a couple days later I noticed a soft lump on my lower right leg, just to the right of my shin bone, and its right on top of the muscle. When I stand on my tip toes, it protrudes, but when when I point my toes up toward my face, I can push there and feel a slight indention. I got an ultrasound on it, and they didnt find anything. They ruled out any blood clots. I also have one on the other leg that is smaller, and one on my arm just below my elbow.
These things do not move around with the skin. And they dont hurt, there are no discolorations or pain or anything. They are just there. The one on my arm I've had for years though...about 10 years. and it hasnt grown or anything.
    Any Idea what it is?
I am scheduled to have them removed this month, but Im kinda worried about it.

Theres a hard lump on my lower leg?
I don't remember hitting it, and its been there for 3-4 months.

It hurts off and on. You used to not be able to see it only feel it, but now it has a reddish purple tint to it. It keeps getting bigger it seems, then sometimes it will be small.

I called the doctor they can only take me in a week. Do you have any idea what this is?

    • ANSWER:
This sounds like a fatty tumer(toomer?). Even though you may not be fat they still occur out of no where, there so annoying! I have one on my arm and its a little pink. Its been there for about a year 1/2 and somthimes it hurts somtimes it doesn't. It will eventually stop growing and somtimes seem smaller and larger. Thats what i think it is, but the doctor should be able to tell exactly, good luck! hope this helped.
FYI: Fatty Tumers occur on alot of people that are skinny, so don't think your fat, and they are harmless.

I have a quarter size lump on my lower leg. It is sore to the touch like a bruise. Came up yesterday?
I can't remember hitting it and there doesn't seem to be any indication of a spider bite...

    • ANSWER:
It's probably just a random abscess. My daughter had one on her butt last summer and we finally had to have it lanced by the doctor. It took about a week to clear up and it was really sore and angry red. He said these things just pop up sometimes. She hasn't had one since, but my mom said she used to get them all the time when she was a teen. So maybe it's just a thing...

    Soft lump in lower leg?
Back towards the beginning of the year I got kicked in the shin. Ever since then I've had a small/medium sized lump that is sometimes sore. Its about 4 - 6 inches above my ankle and to the right of the bone about an inch... its also on the front of my leg. Its most prominant when im standing, but is still visible when im sitting. Its not brused or discolored in any way. Im terrified it could be something serious. Has anyone else experienced this, and if you have, what was it?
For2000 I got kicked in the front of my right leg.

    • ANSWER:

    Painless lump on lower leg?
I'm a 23 year old female. I have a hard painless lump on my left leg, right below my knee, half a lemon in size. I noticed it about 6 weeks ago and it seems like it grew a bit since then. It also seems to be fixed to the tibia, doesn't move around and when I squeeze the skin around it I can feel its shape precisely (it's not perfectly round). The skin above it is completely normal; it's not sore, there are no marks of any kind and the color remains unchanged. Besides a weird tachycardia, which I don't see how could be related to the nodule, I have no other symptoms.

I'm getting really worried as the thing won't go away as I first thought it would. It's definitely not a mere swelling resulting from any kind of injury. I'm abroad right now and won't be able to see a doctor for at least the next three weeks, but that's certainly the first thing I'll do as soon as I get home. For the time being, how concerned should I be about all that? Please, any advice will be highly appreciated.
it's NOT a swelling and it's NOT a hematoma, guys. it's a solid mass under the skin, seemingly attached to the bone.

what I really want to know is if it fits the description of a malignant tumor, or if it's more likely to be a benign tumor of some sort. so, any real doctors there? does anyone know a medical forum where I can ask the same thing and get more specific answers?

I really can't see a doctor right now, but you have NO idea how this thing is making me crazy. just to explain that I'm not a masochist. anyway, I'll see what I can do. thanks.

    • ANSWER:
A painless lump that seems to be growing should never be ignored . . ever. It is a classic sign of a type of cancer called sarcoma and could be related to a bone tumor or a soft tissue cancer. No one knows from your description what this might be . . it needs to be clinically examined and if possible a biopsy done. However, a sarcoma is one of the more common types of cancer to hit young adults. You have an unidentified lump that seems to be growing and you are at the right age for this type of cancer.

I am extremely concerned by some of the answers you have received. Most mean well, but I cannot over emphasize the danger you may be in . . a sarcoma is a rare cancer that a majority of general doctors including regular oncologist routinely misdiagnos. No one, you see, expects a healthy 23 year old female to have cancer . . so it is not investigated thoroughly . . and often can sit for a year or two just growing. No one can tell what a lump is, not even a doctor, just by looking . . you need a biospy and if possible, complete removal as this lump can actually at some point turn cancerous.

I know you are in a bind right now, but if at all possible go to the local hospital for a check up. Also, call home and try to arrange to be seen by a sarcoma specialist . . they are the only type of doctor who will be able to tell one way or the other if this is serious or not.

I am sorry if this scares you . . but I have good reasons . . we paid little attention to the our 17 year old son who just casually mentioned one day that he had a lump in his belly. A month later we discovered that he had stage IV abdominal sarcoma . . he was filled with tumors. Prior to that he was perfectly normal, working weekends, playing high school sports, and going to school. There was no warning and . . yeah . .he was misdiagnosed.

Please see a doctor as soon as possible or at least make an appointment to see a sarcoma specialist in three weeks.

      Good luck.

Big lump in lower left leg near ankle, doesnt hurt but feels like its swollen?
Idk what it is. i was scratching my leg and felt it. Its on my outer left leg, close to my ankle. I can feel the bone, then a lump, then the bone again. it doesnt hurt though. My other leg isnt the same. idk what it is. ANy ideas?

    • ANSWER:
If the lump has defined borders and moves side to side when pushing it, chances are it is a benign cyst. It may also be a insect bite or a hematoma which can appear like a lump, but usually it will hurt. If the lump is attached to the bone (fibula), you need to get it checked out by a orthopod, just in case.
Also if the lump changes color, gets larger or bleeds over time, you must see your physician. Hope this helps.

can Tendinitis cause a lump in the lower leg about 5 inches above the ankle on the front of the shin?

    • ANSWER:
yes it can my friend tendinitis is basically a medical way of saying inflammation of a tendon or tendons, inflammation is swelling and therefore a lump may appear due to abnormal swelling, if you have not been to the GP already i suggest you go a.s.a.p just for peace of mind

I've one lump on the inside of my lower leg just beneath the skin?
It's been there for about 2-3 years and hasn't been growing. But its kind of solid and at the same place.

Do I need to tell the doctor bout it?

    • ANSWER:
Yes. From your description, cancer cannot be ruled out. Any unexplained lump or bump should be examined by a doctor. No one here can tell you what this lump could be at this point. Whenever you have a lump below the surface of the skin, the problem isn't what you can see or even feel at this point . . if it is cancer it could be growing below the surface of the skin . . cancer can spred out and have 'roots' that you may never even feel. Don't wait any longer . . get it checked out. Hopefully it will be nothing and turn out to be a cyst.

Incidentally, if the doctor who examines you mentions sarcoma at any point . . than you should request to be seen by a sarcoma specialist. If you are dealing with sarcoma than only a specialist or a sarcoma center should treat you (and don't let anyone convince you otherwise).

Can a lump on my lower leg be a hematoma? I have had no injury and there is no bruising, just a painful knot.
I've had it for over a month and recently had an ultrasound. My dr. said it was a resolving hematoma. I was also recently diagnosed with lupus. If I am sitting or walking, or driving, the pain gets real intense - so I keep it elevated a lot. All my searches have indicated hematomas are caused by some injury, and go thru lots of discoloration, and I've had neither. I just feel that it something else because I have a larger numb area above the knee on the same leg which I've had for 8 months. That was diagnosed by another dr. as a pinched nerve - although it is swollen (about the size of a big avocado). I get a lot of electric pain in and around that lump and it is very painful above the numb area.

    • ANSWER:

I have a lump that appeared on my lower leg, it doesn't hurt, any ideas?
I've seen the doctor & they don't really know what it is, just that it appears to be a soft tissue mass. I've had x-rays & they don't show anything. Also, my foot sometimes goes to sleep for no reason.

    • ANSWER:
Did the Dr say if the lump was located in the fat of your leg or in the muscle? If it is located in the fat you are probably ok but I would still get a second opinion if the lump keeps growing. If the lump is located in or attached to your muscle than I'd get a second opinion. You did not say how old you are but if you are under 40 then younger people have a small chance of developing several types of rare soft muscle cancers that need specialized care in order to ensure survival. The numbness would also have me concerned. I think I'd see a orthopedic oncologist if there was any suspicion of cancer. Do not panic but watch this lump carefully. good luck

Does a litle lump on your lower right leg mean you have cancer?

    • ANSWER:
No. You could have a small benign (non-cancerous) cyst beneath the skin. Show your doctor at your next visit. Some suspicious signs of cancer include: persistent sore throat, wounds that do not heal, sores in the mouth, swollen lymph nodes, persistent cough, blood in the stool. Don't be worried, just let the doctor know and examine the leg within the next several weeks.

sore lump on side of lower leg, what could it be?
I don't know if it's related, but about five years ago, i fell down the stairs and banged the side of my lower leg really hard on a metal step. since then that area has always had slight discoloration and a small lump could be felt under the skin, but it felt fine. In the last month in the same area, there is a larger lump, (not so large you can see it by looking at it, but it feels larger if you run your fingers over the area) and it's sore if you press on it. It's only sore if you press down on it and it's slightly less sore now, but there is a new smaller lump/bump in the same area. What are the most obvious things it could be?

I know the obvious response is to see a doctor, but since i have to wait until i can afford the visit, i figured i'd ask around.

Found a lump on lower right leg?
I'm a female, 25 yrs old, 5'5 and overweight. Just before Thanksgiving, I noticed a painful hard knot on my right leg to the left of my shin and about 3 in. under my knee. Since then, it has grown just a little more and has cause just a little inflammation around that area because of the pain. I let my Dr. take a look at it and I don't feel that she was 100% correct about the diagnosis. Regretfully I can't remember the term she used when she diagnosed it, but it starts w/the letter "P". She prescribed meds for the knot on my leg. But I'm very particular about medications as well. I'm acquainted with cysts/boils and this lumps almost feels the same way, but I don't know if that could be what it is. Does anybody, preferably w/medical experience might have any insight to what this could be? Thanks in advance for you feedback!

    • ANSWER:
It does sound like it could be a boil. A sebaceous cyst might be another possibility.

What causes a large lump or abnormal growth in the lower leg?
When I was pregnant (gave birth 9 months ago), my legs were extremely swollen, so much so that I got stretch marks around my ankles and my lower left leg developed a large lump. Now the swelling of course has gone away and I've lost about 30 pounds but I still have this strange lump on the inside of my leg, right above my left ankle. What could be causing this? It doesn't hurt, its not sore, just unattractive almost like an abnormality that I never had before I was pregnant. I have this lump on the front of my lower leg?
It's odd, there's just this lump of fat in the middle of the front of my lower leg. It doesn't hurt to touch it, it doesn't itch or anything like that. It's just kind of there. It can't be related to shaving my legs because it's never been there before and I just noticed it now. The rest of my leg is completely smooth. It's got this pinkish tint to it.

Does anyone have any idea as to what this could be?
I'm pretty positive it's not an ingrown hair (it's too big) and I don't need help losing weight, I'm on the lower end of the healthy weight spectrum.
It's also on the front so when I touch my leg it's supposed to feel just like bone but it feels like fat instead.

could she also be anti- depressant ?
** i mean could she also be deppresed and need anti- deppresents?
she only stays upstairs and never leaves there even if i am just home

    • ANSWER:
A trip to the vet would be advised, but cats, like humans, suffer from old age. Losing teeth isn't out of the question, and the lump -- while it could be cancerous -- may just be a fatty deposit that has built up over the years. We have four cats and a dog. The dog is 13 and has developed lumps here and there all over his body. The vet says they are the before mentioned fatty deposits.

As for hiding, cats are easily frightened. Three of our cats are fine when other people come around. The fourth hides in the closet or under the bed if anyone even knocks at the door or he hears strange voices. But he is fine around our family members.

Lump in lower half of leg? what could it be? ?
so I'm 18 and have a lump on the lower half of my leg. I have no idea what it is! I found it about 3 years ago and haven't paid it much attention. I've just been waiting for it to go away but it hasn't.

it's kinda midway down the bottom half of my leg on the front left side of my shin. it's not painful at all and it's about the size of a gumball. I don't really think it's growing, but it could have been.

I'm active. walk 4 miles everyday. healthy weight for a girl my age. but for the same past 3 years I have had occasional knee pain in my left knee. I went to the doctor about that (just before I discovered the lump - so I've never been to the doctor for the lump itself) and without any tests, X-rays or anything he diagnosed it as under developed muscle surrounding my kneecap.

Lower Leg (Anterior Lateral Tibia) Soft Painless Bump/Lump when Flexed, what is it?
I have had on my left leg, a very noticeable soft lump, no pain, & no discoloration about the size of a dime for quite some time now. You can only see it however, when I flex my calves. I have had a few comments in the gym on it, even had one guy tell me it was a hernia, which I quickly dismissed as being silly, since a hernia is a tear is muscle tissue and an organ pops through, they are also very painful, mine is not.

Yesterday, I'm working out with a client, and I notice he has 2 on his left, and 3 on his right leg. Neither of us know what they are, or where we got them. If you have any ideas what this could be, a link to some reading maybe.... I am sure it's nothing to worry about, since they don't hurt and aren't discolored .... I'm just extremely curious.

Soft lump on both lower legs :)?
These lumps have been there for as long as I can remember. They're hard to explain, but it's like, when I stand or put pressure on my legs, or hold my legs out straight while sitting, these visible bumps show up on both lower legs. On my right leg, the bump is to the right of my shin bone, and on the left leg, the bump is to the left of the shin bone, in the exact same position. When I press it, it feels TOTALLY soft, not hard at all, and it doesn't hurt. It just bothers me a bit. Does anyone know what these two bumps are?

Oh, I'm a sixteen year old girl, and I don't play any sports, but I am decently active most days. XD

    lump on my leg?
For about 4 months now, ive had a painless lump on my left lower leg. its not hard its soft. i cant find anything. anyone help me pls

    • ANSWER:
hi, I'm just giving you some general doesn't point to anything. You need to have your lump checked out by a doctor if you are worried.

When you say it soft throughout?
also is it soft as in you think it's filled with water? if so, it may just be a cyst or abscess (these are painful tho).
Or is it soft as in soft like clay? it could be a lipoma (benign, growth of fatty tissue)
or is it just firm like the bridge of your nose?
or is it hard like bone? it could be carcinoma
when you put your finger on it, does it sink?
      1. Painless swellings with a shorter duration are mostly malignant.
      2. How did the swelling start and then change? if the swelling was noticed casually and gradually increased in size, it could be a neoplasm/tumor/growth. Most benign tumors grow slowly and cancers grow much faster. PLEASE GET IT CHECKED IF THE SIZE HAS INCREASED. Also how big is the swelling?
Do you notice any changes in your left lower leg? if so, please go to the doctor immediately.
      3. Are there presence of any other lumps anywhere else?
      4. is there any color change associated with the lump? What about the skin over the swelling - does it look irregular? Does it feel irregular & rough (carcinoma), or smooth (cyst) or does it have smooth bumps (lipoma)?

This is just a small list...the doctor will need to look into it more & touch it (palpate) and come to a decision. Please go to your doctor and have it looked at.

I have a few lumps on my lower legs...they are visible when standing or putting pressure on the lower leg...?
I have a few lumps on my lower legs...they are visible when standing or putting pressure on the lower leg muscles they are located on. The lumps are underneath the skin and my skin is not discolored. I have had a couple doctors comment on them and one said they formed due to being a cross country runner, but can not remember what he said it was called. Recently I spoke with another doctor who performed my lower hernia operation and he said they were lipomas…After looking up what lipomas were and thinking about what my first doctor described about long distance running causing these lumps, I was wanting to see what other possibilities these could be without spending more money to get another opinion…So if anyone has any information they would like to share (e.g. medical term for them, treatment if any, etc…) that would be appreciated!

Should I be worried about this pain in my lower leg near my ankle in what seems to be the bone?
Since last week I've had this dull pain in the bone near the ankle. When compared to the same spot on my other leg I can tell that there is a lump there. Pushing on it doesn't cause too much pain and it hurts the most when I am not moving for awhile (I went to the movies last night and when I walked out it was a very noticeable but dull pain.) I also run cross country and during my race yesterday I didn't notice any pain coming from that spot.

Help..What are the 3 lumps in my lower leg?
Hi..I have found 3 lumps in my lower right leg. One is below my knee, the other a few inches under that and the 3rd is on the outside of my calf and that is the only sore one. I noticed the middle one first about 3 months ago and just went to the dr. They did an xray and said it is soft tissue because it didn't show on the xray but they would have to biopsy them to find out for sure what they are and because they are causing pain in the leg. I have to wait 2 weeks to meet with the surgeon. I only told the dr. about the 2 on the front as I just found the 3rd one and am totally stressed out now! What are these things and why does it seem like they keep appearing? Of course I wonder if it could be cancer or blood clots and am freaked out now! Help..anyone have some ideas? Thanks!!
I am seeing the surgeon in 2 weeks to have them removed but I didn't know about the 3rd one until today!

hopefully they are just harmless sebaceous cysts, basically a sweat gland gets blocked and a hard deposit forms. if they hurt, or continue to grow they are easily cut out. hopefully it will be something simple like that.

My cat has a small lump on his lower belly...?
He's 13, not obese, in good health, indoor cat. It's near his lower leg, about the sized of a strawberry. It's kind of tight. It doesn't hurt him when I grab it. He doesn't seem sick or anything. What do you advise?

    • ANSWER:
Any lump should be evaluated by a veterinarian. You want to rule out cancer. It could be a cyst or a fatty tumor. Usually there is not problem with the last two unless it is located in an area that can affect movement or crowd internal organs. At 13 years of age, it is time for his senior checkup. Remember, cats don't show pain like people do.
